As a part of the State of Florida's software modernization strategy, Florida agencies are moving away from monolithic "big-project" development to service oriented architecture (SOA) and cloud computing.

Built on NServiceBus using Azure Queues in the cloud, the Voter Registration System has already run the Presidential Preference Primary last January, the Presidential Primary in August, and is ready to go for the elections in November.

Led by Larry Aultman, CIO of the Florida Department of State, many other systems are slated to be rewritten with NServiceBus on Azure including the Division of Corporations systems for corporate filings. Aultman's previous experience with NServiceBus and Azure in the healthcare sector gave him the confidence to select them as the backbone of these most critical systems.
